Frequently Asked Questions
01
What should I expect on the first visit?
On the first visit, Dr. Josh will sit down and go over your health history and any specific problems you want to work on, set goals for care, do a comprehensive physical exam, and finish with light treatment if appropriate. Budget about 45 minutes to an hour for the first visit.
02
What is the “popping” or “cracking” sound during an adjustment?
We provide gentle and effective pediatric chiropractic care to support your child's growth and development. Prenatal chiropractic care focuses on the well-being of both mother and baby during pregnancy. Trust our specialized care for your family's health.
03
I didn’t hear or feel a cavitation during my adjustment. Did it not work?
The cavitation does not always occur during an adjustment, and that's OK! It will not always make the sound, and certain adjustments will never result in a cavitation. At the end of the day, it’s just a sound that does not affect the outcome of the adjustment.
05
Can you adjust infants and kids? Isn’t that dangerous?
Chiropractic care is very different for infants and young children, as their skeletal system is still growing! Therefore, we do not use the same methods that we use for a full-grown patient. The adjustment uses very light pressure, similar to what you would use to check the ripeness of an avocado. In addition to the light pressure, there are no rapid movements during pediatric adjustments either. Kids love it so much that after a couple of adjustments, they typically come running to the table!
04
Do I have to keep seeing a chiropractor after I start?
No! This myth is commonly floated as a negative for seeing a chiropractor. The truth is that once patients begin care and start learning about how their body functions, they choose to continue chiropractic care on a wellness basis as a part of their routine to continue to function at their best. However, plenty of patients stop care once they feel better with no issue.
06
How does chiropractic care work for kids if they don’t have back or neck pain?
Ultimately, chiropractic affects the nervous system, as that is what controls everything in the body! If the nervous system is operating more on the sympathetic side (fight or flight mode) then it cannot heal properly or fully, and that can cause pain (typical for adults) or it can manifest in other ways in kids like colic, constipation, difficulty with sleep or feeding, and many more. With chiropractic care that balances the nervous system and allows for a seamless switch

What is the Webster Technique?
The Webster technique was created by chiropractor Larry Webster, who developed it after his daughter experienced her first pregnancy. It is a specific analysis and treatment of the pelvis and its surrounding soft tissues (muscles and ligaments). By ensuring that everything around the pelvis (and ultimately Mom’s nervous system) is functioning optimally, that is giving the baby the optimal environment to grow and develop during this exciting time!
